Most of the pipes for the Great Division
reside in the space to the left of the swell box. The case was built to help direct the sound toward the front of the church. |
|
This view gives a good angle at
the different ranks in the Great Division. From front to back, III
Mixture, 2' Hohl Flote (pipes with red stripe), 8' Dulciana, 8' Copula
(wood pipes), 4' Principal pipes, and finally additional Dulciana
pipes. The Hohl Flote is usually of wood construction, but is metal on
this organ. |
|
Here are some of the smallest pipes on the organ. The three rows of
pipes in front are part of the III Mixture. The remaining pipes are all
additional pipes from the other ranks. |
|
Behind the case are most of the
pipes of the Pedal Division. Here we see the separation between the
case and the pipes. Everything is elevated several feet off the ground
thus the need for the ladder. |
|
Here's a slightly different view from the floor of the back of the organ. |
|
Mounted on the back wall are the pipes of the 8' Principal rank. These were added to the organ after it was installed. |
|
Things are crammed in pretty good in back! In
front are pipes from the 4' Choral Bass rank, the red striped pipes are
the 8' Gedeckt, and finally the big pipes are the 16' Quintadena
rank. |
|
Here's a view of the tops of the three ranks
directly behind the case. Also note the 8' Principal pipes on the far
right side on the wall. |
|
Under the organ is all of the pipe work, wind
reservoirs, and other misc. equipment. The large pipe in the center on the
floor is the main air supply pipe leading from the blower (behind the
photographer) to the three main wind chests. Most of the pipes are
metal rather than of plastic. |
|
Here's a better view of two of the main wind reservoirs for the organ. These will expand as they fill with air. |
|
The blower is fairly small. Here we see the
blower box (large box), and the equalization chamber, as well as the
main air supply pipe. |
|
Here are the specs. for the blower. The date 2/91 indicates when the organ was installed. |
