Other Photos of the Organ

wind reservoirs There are three reservoirs in this pipe organ, of which two can be seen in this photo. These are also original Page equipment. Though not seen in the photo, each chest has 6" stamped on it, presumably the wind pressure of the organ.
reservoir This is a good cross-sectional view of the third reservoir which sits under the 8' Open Diapason pipes in the middle of the room. Despite its age, it is relatively free of any major blemishes, and appears to have newer leathers lining the chest's interior.

The three photos above show the rather elaborate mechanical set up for the expression shade control. The horizontal piece of wood is connected to a vertical pipe seen at the right in the first photo, or in the center of the second, which is then connected to another horizontal piece which connects to the control unit. It is unknown how long this set up has been in place in the chamber.

wind chest Behind the pipe chamber is this room which is home to the blower for the organ. The blower is in the large box with a regulator reservoir in the small box above. The rope to the left is connected to one of the bells in the church's steeple.
blower The date on the builder's plate on the blower shows that this is definitely not the original equipment, nor is it the blower from the pipe organ's second home in Holy Family Catholic Church. Zephyr blowers are built by the Schantz Pipe Organ company.

On the other side of the room is this relic - the blower from the previous pipe organ to vacate the pipe organ chamber of the church. The B.F. Blower Co. product gives us a clue that likely the previous organ was built by Kilgen Pipe Organs of St. Louis, MO. Kilgen purchased over half of all the organ blowers built by B.F. Blower Co.

The serial number of 7345 is slightly higher than serial number on the blower (7150) on the St. Charles Preparatory School Kilgen Pipe Organ which was built in 1926. This blower was probably built in 1927.
