The hip
bone is connected to the leg bone, the leg bone...
The
three photos above show
the rather elaborate mechanical set up for the expression shade
control. The horizontal piece of wood is connected to a vertical pipe
seen at the right in the first photo, or in the center of the second,
which is then connected to another horizontal piece which connects to
the control unit. It is unknown how long this set up has been in place
in the chamber.

On the other side of the room is this relic
- the blower
from the previous pipe organ to vacate the pipe organ chamber of the
church. The B.F. Blower Co. product gives us a clue that likely the
previous organ was built by Kilgen Pipe Organs of St. Louis, MO. Kilgen
purchased over half of all the organ blowers built by B.F. Blower Co. The serial number of 7345 is slightly higher than serial number on the blower (7150) on the St. Charles Preparatory School Kilgen Pipe Organ which was built in 1926. This blower was probably built in 1927. |
